Swing Affair sponsors swing dances in South Florida from Miami to Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach.
We have a FREE beginner lesson before each dance.
You don’t need a partner and the dances cost $10 or less.
Swing Affair also offers DJ services and can provide dancers for your special event.

Come celebrate 1 year of Swing By The Sea at Dance Moves Studio!
Whether you come out every week, or haven’t been to a dance at all, you’re invited to come party with us!
Dress in your vintage best, and come out for what’s sure to be a fun-filled night!
Rumor has it we may even have some video clips to share, so come check it out.
As always, there will be a lesson from 8:00-9:00, and DJed music from 9:00-12:00. Swing By The Sea is located at Dance Moves Studio, 220 Commercial Blvd, Lauderdale By The Sea, FL 33308. Admission is $10, $8 with student ID.

Did you miss Lindy Hop 101 the first time around? Do you want to learn new things beyond just the basics? Are you ready to kick your dancing up a notch? In that case, come take Heather and Rob’s Lindy Hop 101!
This will be a four week PROGRESSIVE class. Each week builds on the previous week’s instruction. They will focus on the swingout, the basis for all Lindy Hop. They will introduce you to better lead/follow techniques, dance transitions, and Charleston.
In just a few short weeks, you can improve your dancing, impress your friends, and have a lot more fun on the dance floor.
Dates: April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd (4 week session)

Time: 8:00pm-9:00pm
Price: $72/person for the entire session. This includes admission to the dance!
Class price only (no dance) is $60/person for the entire session.

Hey folks just a reminder of something a little different this week.
We are going to do a Swing and Bling night.
What this means is we will be swinging tunes all night, but if you have any old gold laying around, here is a chance for you to sell it. In the back room we will be hosting a “gold party.” Bring your old gold and get an appraisal price. Take advantage of the highest prices per ounce in years. They will cut you a check right there. You are under no obligation for anything, but for some of us this might be a chance to get rid of something that has been gathering dust in a drawer and get some extra money in time for the holidays.
On behalf of Swing Affair I wanted to express gratitude to everyone that continues to support Swing and Lindy Hop here in South Florida. We like our new home and hope you do as well. We have been trying to mix things up with additional DJ’s and have a larger variety in the music.
Finally, for those that didn’t make the Halloween Party this past weekend. The audience has spoken…in third place was Matt for his portrayal of John Lennon. In second place was James for homeless, drunk Santa. And in first place, was the trio of Dan, Kelli and Amy for their fantastic costumes for Alice in Wonderland (The Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and Alice). Hope everyone has a great week and we hope to see you on Thursday. Remember the classes start at 8pm if you know someone that wants to come out and give things a try. Dance will start at 9pm. The Totally Awesome 80s Party returns to South Florida, August 29th! Join us for a night of lindy hop in an 80s theme….
We will have prizes for the best costume, so we encourage revelers to come dressed in their favorite 80s attire!
Music will be a mix of swing and danceble 80s music. We will also have video clips of 80s music videos to help bring back old memories!
Light snacks will be provided, as well as water. Inexpensive drinks are available at the bar.
There will be a lesson from 8pm-9pm, dancing will be from 9pm-1:00am at the American Legion Hall, 71 SW 2nd St., Pompano Beach, FL
Admission is $10 (includes the lesson and the dance)

Hello! Amos would like to share with everyone this upcoming opportunity to get out and dance to live music. On Friday, June 12th at the Mai Kai restuarant in Ft. Lauderdale from 6-9pm Slip and the Spinouts will be playing Rockabilly Swing. The music is mostly fast but some slower songs will be played. It’s during Happy Hour, so admission is free! Special Tribute to Frankie Manning, the Lindy Hop pioneer and ambassador who passed away earlier this week. Dress in your vintage best.

This dance is still being held downstairs is room 602 (North side of the building). It will move up to the Tower Room soon when all renovations are complete.

Greetings from our new website!
This update is the first one launched from our spiffy new Swing Affair website and we hope you like it. All kinds of good stuff is comin’ up, so read on….
Thursday Nights
Our new Thursday night venue at Dance Moves Studio in Lauderdale by the Sea, started off last week with great success, and we know you will help us keep it rollin’! Dance Moves is a beautiful new dance studio with a great wood floor and a nice atmosphere. We love our new home. Come and check it out if you haven’t already. Here’s the info:
• Beginning swing dance lessons will be taught by Frank from 8pm to 9pm, and dancing goes from 9pm to about 12 midnight. Beginners are welcome and no partner is required!
• The admission for the whole night is $10, and $8 for students with a valid ID.
• There is no bar at this venue, but the Kwik Pic convenience store downstairs is open until 12 midnight, and here you can get beer, wine, water, soda and snacks.
• Music will be offered by rotating DJs, and at least two DJs will play every Thursday, to ensure a good mix of music. We strive to focus on traditional lindy hop music, although other kinds of swing will be played also.

A new dancing opportunity on Wednesday nights!
The Blue Palm Lounge is a newly remodeled club with a large dance floor and a smoke free environment in Delray Beach. Every Wednesday is Swing Night with live music from Jimmy Cavallo from 7pm to 11pm, starting April 22nd!
Jimmy will perform big band standards, swing, rhythm & blues, jump blues and early rock & roll ONLY in keeping with the swing dance theme.
They will be featuring a weekly dance contest with gift certificates to the Blu Palm Restaurant for the winners. The weekly winners will then become eligible for our Grand Finale Contest at the end of two months with cash prizes. (Surely one of us will win these prizes!)
Next week is the kick-off party with a free buffet from 7-9pm!!

Friday Night Jump!
Friday Night Jump is in full swing at Shall We Dance in Deerfield Beach. The lesson is from 8pm to 9pm, and dancing starts at 9pm and goes until 12:30am. Enjoy free snacks and water, and admission is just $8.

Smooth Lindy, anyone?
Izzy and Melanie are teaching a beginning smooth lindy class at Dance Moves every Friday for the month of April for the West Coast Swingers! Come brush up on your smooth Lindy and show your stuff on the dance floor! Admission $12, lesson starts at 7:30, dancing at 8:30.
